VoiceBox peer-led workshops are designed by young people for young people. Our hand-picked presenters deliver all sessions virtually or in person – helping attendees feel confident in tech, creativity, and their mental wellbeing.
Mis and Disinformation
This workshop explores the challenges young people face in identifying and addressing online misinformation and disinformation. Participants learn how to distinguish between the two, recognise scams and emotional or biased language, and verify information from multiple sources. The session also examines emerging topics such as deepfake images and videos, building practical media literacy skills that help students navigate the digital world confidently and critically.
Understanding AI Chatbots
Our “Understanding AI” workshop gives students a basic background in what AI actually is and how it shows up in their daily digital lives. Rather than fear-mongering or telling the students what they shouldn't do, the workshop empowers participants to consider how they can engage with AI responsibly and thoughtfully.
We discuss both opportunities and challenges: exploring creativity, productivity, bias, privacy, and emotional over‑reliance. We also look at how AI is built into the platforms and services students already use, helping them recognise risks and make informed decisions about how they interact with technology.
Sharing Your Voice Creatively
This workshop gives the students a chance to explore how to get their voice out there in a way that feels right for them. Through writing, art, poetry, or other creative forms, participants consider what topics matter most to them and how to communicate them effectively. They'll get practical advice, support, and the freedom to express themselves in their own style. Plus, if of interest, we can let the students know how to submit their work to our platform so they can share their creations with other young people. It’s a laid-back, fun, and creative space designed to celebrate participants' unique perspectives and give them the confidence to share it.
