I wrote this poem during a time of transition in my life, it speaks of managing change when you have autism.
Change
Quaking, trembling soul wishing for the old
Ghost trapped in the past
Heart captured under glass
Can’t you see that to change is to be free
Movement stitches the seam
You laugh and cry with every remorse
Wishing for what life could be
If only
But the sea rises and falls
Effortlessly
Perhaps it’s beauty is beneath
Life must grow
With every laugh and cry
Its part of what makes us alive
Every cycle must repeat
For what would the world be
Without the glittering stars
Void of all the moments in a day
Everything would become nothing
What could be in every opportunity
Would never be
Please realise that
Possibility is everywhere
It's in every seed
