White winter breeze,
Rushing past my skin, pressing on it
My feet click on hardened cobblestones,
I look ahead, and there's just white,
A soft white
Not the sort that blinds you, but blurs—
An overlay, muting every shade equally.
The red isn't as red as it used to be,
Ruby roses now just pale petals.
And the greens hidden somewhere I can't find.
The sky has lost its color, and the wind has gained some.
All the sky's blue, condensed in my heart.
I press on my arms—
The harshness of the wind makes my touch feel all the softer, all the warmer.
