Every day at precisely the same time, she sits at the same spot watching the same people go by. She watches the mailman drop off the day’s mail in her neighbor's mailbox, sparing a glance at the children running by in the street— the school bus will be here soon. Today is like every other day before it. The man with the three dogs walks by, presumably on his way to the park. The older woman who collects plastic bottles shuffles from yard to yard, peeking over fences, searching for her daily prize. She’s envious of them all. They all have places to be, people to see, things to do. And all the while she sits, staring out the window, nowhere to see, no one to see, nothing to do.
