Human Questions
I refuse to simply survive on Earth
Or the rainbow spheres beyond
As though sun crackles within my chest
My skin glows with longing to bond
To blow dandelions off to the breeze
Watching dust wander like Saturn's rings
Soaring like comets with angelic ease
Choosing salvation despite everything
To spin around a gleaming streetlamp
Orbiting light as the system will
On this existence, I leave a stamp
For future generations to freely be still
If you listen to the dainty air
Catch the leaves rustling too
Spy a ladybug climbing your hair
And wonder what you are here to do
I ask you to take one look at the sun
Hovering high in the sky
It sustains billions of lives
Never once has it questioned why
Free Space
Existence may float around my mind
Brain waves allow light rays to wind
Sparking galaxies within a black hole
A starry contortion of thoughts from the soul
Which ponder our eternal universal dynamics
Longing to explore new quantum mechanics
To prick apart a planet’s crumbling rings
Uncovering glittering dust-sized things
Desperate to peel a solar layer
To unveil the being absorbing each prayer
Reaching for dots that often glow
In a reformed explosion of long times ago
Why we exist may fill my head
You say these thoughts were meant for the dead
Yet heaven or not never mattered to me
Space was always freedom
You'll see
Beginning
According to Lemaître's claims
Life began with explosions
A racket echoing through the system
Sending reality into motion
Yet I beg to differ
For mine was not a bang
Nor a crackling spark in space
Or gasses blasted across the world
Sparkling stars squished together
Planets bouncing into existence
Mine began with a blink or two
A beautifully blinding gaze
A figure descending from above
In a shimmering haze
Maybe a creator
Perhaps an angel meek
Either way they were soothing
A floating form of new peace
With that I was certain
In every glance I knew
I'd found life against all the odds
I'd discovered a prayer-crafted saviour
You
Astronaut
He spins endlessly like Planet Earth
Embracing the gentle atmosphere
Turning and twisting through space and time
Unaware of his existence let alone mine
Stuck in a spaceship beyond the world
My starry gaze stares at the galaxy beneath
Watching Earth continue each day
Allowing billions of humans to stay
Astronauts observe the life
Longing for musical passion and light
Even within a rocket alone
We all desire finding home
In Every Existence
Never have I seen a being so free
Standing on stars to pass Mercury
Twinkling like the light of day
Skin as delicate as the Milky Way
Never will another eye take this toll
Of snatching my gaze like a black hole
A laugh to fill the sound-void space
Far beyond the human race
Never could another be perfectly warm
With Pluto's might to never conform
As bright as a werewolf's beloved moon
Humming to an unearthly quiet Nep-tune
Never will I find a soul as sweet,
Full of galaxies I'm longing to meet
Constellations shimmer in that smile
One that lingered for an eternal while
Perhaps you were there at the start of time
Crafting planets in the universe's prime
I'll utter a prayer as I cross the space line
In every existence may you be mine
String Theory
A string looped around my finger
Tying two bodies together
A pair roaming dawn to dusk
Facing permanently frosted weather
Yet your love radiates a soothing heat
Your rope pulls me closer still
As your star halo shimmers above
I know it always will
For surely the graphs of existence
Link two human beings as one
A celestial chain between us
A chord of crashing comets begun
As my fingers graced the meaning of life
You stole my hand from reach
In those pupils I found my answer
In silence – no need to preach
Truly I took lonesome steps
Across the heaven's shore
Before you tugged the ties between us
Alas alone no more
The funny fact about string theory is
It seals an ethereal bond so tight
Impossible to fully figure out
For us that sounds quite right
