10 years. According to the United Nations, that’s the maximum amount of time we have to fix the climate crisis. 

And while that may seem like a long time, we’re at risk of being unable to undo the damage we’ve already inflicted on our planet – with many young people feeling their futures are in jeopardy. 

This is why they are leading the way in demanding action. Eco-anxiety is rising across the world, extreme weather is damaging our homes, not to mention the physical ailments that come with climate change such as air pollution. From household names such as Greta Thunberg actioning school strikes across the world, to others accomplishing smaller-scale changes in their local communities, we can probably all agree that the power of young people’s voices has created some impressive communal movements. 

But big organisations and world leaders are not so forthcoming when it comes to change. There are lots of amazing young activists out there who are working hard to get those in power listening, but while many are hearing them, not enough action is happening. 

To raise youth voices around the world, VoiceBox is proud to announce our brand new climate campaign, Forces for Nature, ahead of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference in November.

We want to provide a dedicated space for young people to ensure their voices are heard when it comes to the climate movement. We will push that young people are consulted and listened to within their everyday lives – whether within their local community, companies or schools. Too often, thoughts and opinions are lost to endless hashtags and algorithms, so Forces for Nature will be a place where young people can create and reflect, and organisations can listen and change for the better.
